Beef Karahi – Ramzan Special Recipe

-Beef mix pieces 750g

-Water 3 Cups

-Iodized Himalayan pink salt ½ tsp or to taste

-Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) 1 tbs

-Zeera (Cumin seeds) roasted & crushed ½ tbs

-Chaat masala 1 & ½ tsp

-Kali mirch powder (Black pepper powder) ½ tsp

-Lal mirch (Red chilli) crushed ½ tsp

-Karahi masala 1 tbs

-Garam masala powder ½ tsp

-Sabut Dhania (Coriander seeds) roasted & crushed 1 tbs

-Kasuri methi (Dried Fenugreek leaves) 1 tsp

-Cooking oil ¼ Cup

-Lehsan (Garlic) chopped 2 tbs

-Adrak (Ginger) chopped 1 tsp

-Hari mirch (Green chillies) slitted 4-5

-Tamatar (Tomatoes) halved 4

-Lemon juice ½ tbs

In a wok, add the beef and water, bring it to a boil, and skim off any foam that forms.

Add pink salt and ginger-garlic paste, mix well, cover, and cook on low heat for 40–50 minutes, or until the beef is about 90% cooked.

In a separate bowl, combine cumin seeds, chaat masala, black pepper powder, crushed red chilli, karahi masala, garam masala, coriander seeds, and dried fenugreek leaves. Mix thoroughly.

Your Balochi Karahi spice mix is now ready; set it aside.

Remove the beef pieces from the wok, reserving the cooking stock for later use.

In a wok, heat the cooking oil, add chopped garlic and ginger, and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

Add 2 tablespoons of the Balochi Karahi spice mix and lemon juice, stir well, cover, and cook on low heat for another 1–2 minutes.
